Camp Registrar Position Description

Position Title: Camp Registrar

Accountable to: Executive Minister

Reporting to, and Relational Responsibilities with:  Camp Managers and IN/KY Finance Staff


The position of Camp Registrar is part-time and seasonal (approximately 20-30 hours per month; February through September) with no paid benefits. The successful candidate will be reliable, responsible, and able to work independently with a cooperative spirit. Necessary skills include organization and administration, attention to detail, follow through, and communication.  Necessary technical skills include experience and proficiency with basic computer software (Microsoft Word and Excel); and internet, including email.  Knowledge of IN/KY’s camping ministry considered a plus. Unless working from the IN/KY mission office, the Camp Registrar must have reliable telephone and internet access.  Training will be provided, including the use of IN/KY’s online registration system.

Serving as a member of the part-time IN/KY staff, the Camp Registrar will:

  • Be responsible for receiving, recording, and reporting camper registrations for Indian Creek and Camp Tippy.
  • Process payments of camp registration fees in a timely and accurate manner, along with scholarship funds, and the occasional refund;
  • Respond to questions from parents/care-givers; local church camp coordinators; church treasurers and others responsible for registering their child(ren) or group;
  • Follow up with parents/care-givers and local church leaders to ensure that camp fees are paid and recorded in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Be knowledgeable of IN/KY’s camp scholarship policy. Work with parents, church leaders, and camp managers, seeking creative solutions to ensure that their child is able to attend camp;
  • Maintain accurate camp registration records post-season, ensuring their proper and secure storage;
  • Be responsible for other duties as requested or assigned; and
  • Support the mission and ministry of ABC Indiana & Kentucky.
