After serving in a variety positions and contexts, Rev. Dr. Bruce Cochran brings a wide array of leadership experience to this position on the Region Staff.  He began his ministry while in seminary as Pastor of the Long Run Baptist Church in Vevay.  Prior to coming back to Indiana, he served as an Executive Minister of Christian Education at First Baptist Church in Pomona, CA, and as Pastor of the Clarklake Community Church in Clarklake, MI.  Then, after serving Seymour First Baptist Church as Senior Pastor for 22 years, he assisted Mounds Baptist Church in Anderson as their interim pastor.  Bruce was active in regional work in Michigan and served two terms on the ABC-IN/KY Region Board as well.

Bruce did his undergraduate work at Liberty University and received a Master’s of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, KY). While in California, he earned a Master’s of Theology degree from Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasadena, CA).  In the spring of 2016, he earned a Doctorate of Ministry degree from the Carolina Graduate School of Divinity.

Bruce has been blessed by having a family of deep faith.  His father served as pastor of both Southern and American Baptist churches in Kentucky, Michigan and Indiana. Bruce is married to Connie and they have two adult children. Their youngest son faithfully supports his church, and their oldest son is Senior Pastor at Broadway Christian Church in Fort Wayne. Bruce and Connie have five beautiful grandchildren.

Bruce sees his ministry as one who helps people and congregations move from where they are, to the next place, role or dream they believe God has for them.  As our Region engages the new paths God has for us, Bruce sees his role as a Region Minister as a fitting place for him at this time.  His ministry is focused primarily in the north central part of Indiana.

He works with churches in the following Associations:  Freedom and Judson.
