January 1st, 2025 by Wendy ShulerABC-IN/KY Region Offers M28 Certificate in Theological Education
The ABC-IN/KY Region is pleased to announce M28, a certification program in theological education through Kairos University/Sioux Falls Seminary. This online competency-based approach to theological education from an accredited ATS university/seminary will provide participants a cost-effective means to become better equipped for ministry. To hear more about this program, go HERE.
M28 offers two tracks of engagement:
1) A pastoral leaders track will provide clergy with broad exposure to important ministry topics through 12 courses. This track will prepare pastors for the pursuit of a regionally recognized ordination through ABC-IN/KY. As they advance through the program, students will work with a Student Mentor, the M28 Dean, and an ABC-IN/KY Region Minister.
2) A laity track will equip congregational leaders who wish to advance their knowledge and skill in ministry leadership. These students will be mentored by their pastor.
M28 is a partnership between Kairos and ABC-IN/KY. Kairos will provide the educational course content through a subscription-based delivery of classes. ABC-IN/KY will provide the mentor team and assessment of competencies as students advance through their learning pathway.
For more information, you may contact Rev. Dr. Dan Cash, the M28 Dean, or speak with one of the ABC-IN/KY Region Ministers. If you would prefer to have his phone number, simply call the ABC-IN/KY Region Office.

Kristi grew up in Southeast Indiana in a small town (Osgood, IN) and was an active member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Holton. She spent her summers at Southeastern Baptist Youth Camp (SBYC) and has a heart for camping ministry. It was at camp where she accepted Jesus into her heart and a few years later would hear and accept God’s call on her life into the ministry. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in both Youth Ministry and Christian Education from Indiana Wesleyan University as well as an M.Div. from Campbell University Divinity School (Buies Creek, NC). Throughout her higher education, she developed a love for inductive Bible study and always enjoyed her Bible classes. While in seminary, she spent some time doing an internship and residency in Clinical Pastoral Education at Duke University Hospital (Durham, NC) as well.
Her husband Chris and she are the parents of one daughter. As a family they love spending time together, whether it is enjoying different sports, the great outdoors, or watching a good movie! Over 16 years, Kristi served in various churches, in various positions, with varying staff situations.
One of the additional portfolios she has been assigned as a Region Minister that she is very excited about is Youth Ministry throughout the entire Region. Kristi is passionate about sharing the Word of God and the Light of Christ with that generation and looks forward to finding additional ways that we as a Region can connect students with Christ and one another.
As Region Minister, Kristi will serve primarily churches in the southwest part of the Region including the following Associations: Bedford, Brownstown, Crawford County, Curry’s Prairie, Decatur County, Evansville, Flat Rock, Friendship, Johnson County, Mt. Zion, Tri-County, White Lick and Union.

by taking the form of a slave
and by becoming like human beings.
When he found himself in the form of a human,
he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death,
even death on a cross.

Ministerial Leaders Seeking Ordination or Placement
In order for Region Ministers to connect pastors who are searching for placement in ABCINKY, it is necessary to create a MinistrElife online account (personal profile). For those of you familiar with the American Baptist Personnel Services profile system (ABPS), please be aware that the MinistrElife profile is now the resource used to connect ministers with search committees. It is imperative, therefore, that you create a MinistrElife profile and update your previous ABPS info there in MinistrElife.
Follow the steps below:
–If you already have an ABPS Profile, click HERE.
–If you are joining MinistrElife for the first time (don’t have an ABPS Profile), click HERE and follow the below registration steps:
Click the “Register” button. Type in an email address and then a password. The system will then send you an email to confirm your email address. Go to the email inbox of the email address you provided. Check your Inbox for an email from “support@ministrelife.org” (check your spam folder as well). Once you locate the email, click on the link provided to continue registering on the MinistrElife.org site. Use the email address and password you previously provided to log into the site.
Feel free to email Meg Biddle, who is the (national) MinistrElife specialist, if you have any difficulties. In fact, Meg hails from our Region, so please extend to her a friendly “hello” from home when you reach out to her!
