Nine people from ABC-IN/KY went to Hazard, KY, October 20-23, to help a homeowner whose trailer had flooded in February 2025. The wet insulation and sheetrock of the trailer had been removed, both inside and under the trailer. Since the flood, she had been living in one small bedroom without heat, water, kitchen or bathroom. Someone had put up sheetrock in that room. She had hired some workers over the summer to do additional work, but they walked away with her money while doing almost nothing. Unfortunately, con artists often prey on survivors following a disaster.
In the picture, you see the stack of insulation waiting to be installed while Sandy Sluss and Mary Leitzman clean up debris from the floor. Mark Monroe and Daniel Sluss pound nails into the studs so that new sheetrock can be installed.
