Rusty has been in the pastoral ministry for 40 years. He began his ministry in Indiana as a youth pastor at Decatur FBC and later as a pastor at Hills BC in Kirklin until the Lord told him to pack up his family and travel west to Montana. He pastored both the Crow Community Baptist Church on the Crow Indian Reservation and the Belgrade Community Church there. The Lord then decided to bring him full circle back to Indiana to finish at Warren FBC, where he retired at the end of 2023.
He has actively participated in ABC life throughout his time in both Montana and Indiana. While in Montana, he served on the ABC Northwest Region Board and the Big Sky Area Board, led pastor study groups for that Region’s Academy of Church Transformation, LLC’s (Leadership Learning Communities), and was President of the Belgrade Ministerial Association. He also has served as ABC IN-KY Region Board treasurer, as a mentor in the Region’s M28 Program, and coordinated a Nehemiah Leadership Pastors’ Cohort. While at Warren FBC, he led the Warren Area Ministers Association as vice president and president and is currently serving on the Holy Spirit Renewal Ministries National Service Committee. He is blessed to have Cindy as his wife and co-laborer in ministry. They have three daughters, one son, two grandsons, and two granddaughters.
Rusty works primarily in the northeast part of the Region with churches in the following associations: Harmony, Northeastern, and Salamonie Associations.
